As an Albuquerque resident, I was surprised. Although there’s not much charming about it, I never thought it was that bad. Just kinda poor. Many travel through it to get to Rio Rancho, our “other” suburb, which is relatively affluent. Crime in New Mexico follows gang lines. They’re tough to manage.
