Born in 1957, I saw many of these same things, and reacted the same way. Then, for some reason, I started reading newspapers about the time I was 12, which is why I ended up majoring in journalism. But I never used it much in my career. Now I don't even own a TV. I get all my news from Internet sources. I didn't like the idea of a 60" black square being the center of attention in my home. I can get TV from my computers when I want to. But it's beeen a good four months now. I guess what I'm saying is, TV is irrelevant to me. I get much more satisfaction from the written word. Thanks for the great story!
