By the Numbers: 12 Songs with Numbers in Their Titles
A Numerical Music Prompt
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to write any song list stories on Plethora of Pop. Read my stories in other publications, and you’ll get an idea of why I’ve been bummed out and overwhelmed. I wanna do something fun for a change!
So I came across Pierce McIntyre’s “By the Numbers: “11 Songs with Numbers in Their Titles.” Realizing that it originated with Paul Combs’ “Ten Songs with Numbers in The Title,” I thought it is only fitting that I run with twelve because I want to be in the club, too!
When it comes to trivia and pop culture, I do all possible not to Google for answers. After all, part of the marvel of pop culture is being able to pull from the useless trivia in your head.
However, there are a few instances where I had to phone a friend. I’ll reveal the songs where I had to rely on that source.
On with the countdown, shall we?
1. One More Second — Matt Berninger (2000)
Much of the new music I hear comes from streaming WXRT/Chicago late at night, and this is one of those songs. It’s so quiet and easy to listen to, consisting mainly of Matt and an acoustic guitar. Source: my iTunes.
