Do You Write When You’re Sick?

Or do you give your body a rest?

I’m sick and tired, and I can’t take it anymore! Photo by Volodymyr Hryshchenko on Unsplash

Short-form writing is very new to me, and this could be hard coming from a pretty verbose writer. Help, Grammarly!

So at present, I have one of the worst viruses I’ve ever had. Not COVID. Not HIV. It’s just some virus that has knocked me to my feet for two weeks now.

A lump has formed on my neck where my lymph node is. As a result, my right jaw is swollen. I tried to fix this today (well, at an urgent care center).

Welcome to the days of the ER and COVID. I waited five hours just to get IN. Then another six hours of general inattention.

They gave me pages of explanations upon discharge using words I’d never heard.

However, the worst part is now having to go to the specialists to get to the bottom of the problem. Getting in could take weeks.

I’m sick. I’m tired. I have no strength.

My best hours to write have always been 5 pm-12:00 am. But now, when the sun goes down, my fever goes up. I get the chills and just want to be in my warm bed.

The competitive spirit is alive and well on Medium, and I don’t feel like participating. So what’s going to happen to my algorithm?

It’s 8:00 pm. I’m cold and feverish, and I’m going back to bed.
