How Are You Doing?

Visiting your writing past

My desk at the moment I began writing this article—photo by author.

For newish writers, this is something that might bring some perspective to your work.

Dissect your first piece on Medium. How have you changed? Significant life changes can evolve your writing. And create some great ideas. How does your content differ?

Also, look at the editing aspect. Are you doing better? Making use of a tool such as Grammarly to help lessen your mistakes? Bringing more clarity to your work?

As I near my one-hundredth article, I thought it would be worthwhile to see how far I’ve come. Significant changes have impacted my personal life, and thus my writing. Have I made any progress?

If you’re feeling shitty about your life, this might make you feel better! I’m not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but this article tells it as it is. So if you are currently in a valley, fear not. It usually gets better. Take a puppy upper! ( I like to infuse my writing with a hint of pop culture.)

“No Words…” is the first article I published on 11/8/2018. It was less than four months after an eight-year relationship and a move from Chicago to Albuquerque.

It got no claps and no responses. For instance, I did not know proper formatting, how to insert a picture, or how to use tags. Maybe it was just too raw. But I was also brand new.
