I find it very stressful. Like you pointed out, it does not seem genuine--and it's not! I still participate, but I'm trying to figure a way out. In the meantime, I keep up my calendar, and all of my besties (and bestie relatives) get the Hallmark treatment. WITH a personal and handwritten note.
