I’m surprised the circulation was as high as it was. They didn’t use inserts or blow in cards for the longest time. We always got it as a kid. When family dynamics led to a series of new homes, we’d lost the subscription. They weren’t sold on newsstands at the time. I remember the only place we could find to buy a subscription was at the defunct The Broadway department store. Later in life I simply had no more time to read it. I’m afraid that happened to a lot of us when the internet came into vogue.
