Relational? It’s About Time

I love you, but there’s all this other stuff

Exactly how it feels. Photo by Aron Visuals on Unsplash.

Medium wants us writers to be more relational.

I would love nothing more than to have a deeper relationship with my readers and fellow writers.

But when?

I barely have enough time to have a “local” life, let alone keep close to friends and family who extend from Alaska to Florida.

Picking up after myself and trying to keep a tidy home? Unfortunately, writers don’t have much time for that.

Writing, eating and sleeping become the essentials of life.

And then there’s the cancer.

I adore every reader and follower who take their time to read my stories.

But I can’t manage it all, though I try. Managing the illness is exhausting and time-consuming enough.

As I age (64 now), time has become my most precious commodity.

Much as I like spontaneity, I will have to start living by lists. Chemotherapy seems to be robbing me of my memory. And my dyslexia is making itself at home. You should see my syntax before I edit.

Lists. Maybe then I can carve out time to be more relational if I put it on a list.
