This is one of those "I wish I'd written that" stories! An obscure place that few know about. My lower class neighbors in my lower class housing tract in Southern California used to go there for "resort" vacations. Betcha anything it was sponsored by a developer trying to make their money back.

And furthermore, where would the water come from to provide for a 4 million-plus city? California has only recently learned that lesson.
