Sometimes you feel like a health nut; sometimes you don’t

Last night, when I got home from a party (not even buzzed, so you know it wasn’t a successful party), I decided I would write an article. I have many to finish and haven’t published since December 5. Blame it on ready-to-assemble furniture. That’s another story. I wanted to write a brand-new story, but on what?

Getting into the ADHD of things, I knew my phone needed to be charged, so I thought, why not text with a friend while it’s charging? And they say multitasking is a waste! Instead of texting a real friend, I chatted with someone I’d just met on a hookup site. He seemed to be having an existential crisis, so I gave him an hour. But no sex.

Afterward, I went to the kitchen and remembered I hadn’t fed the plants. That’s been on a to-do list since mid-September. I finished that while eating a cinnamon roll and part of a pound cake.

Finally, I got to my desk and saw a big pile of Christmas cards. “Fuck,” I thought, “What day is this?” I got ready to write a few, and then something more important came to mind: email! I haven’t looked at it in two days. I’m a pariah and still use Yahoo! for my personal email. They have a pretty…
