When Virgin Galactic based their operations here, it was seen as a real boon for New Mexico. Of course, any entity that creates more than 10 jobs gets press in the state! But they have just laid off about 20% of their employees, saying they need time to build more spacecraft. I once worked for a Virgin company. in the end, they're no different from any other--they're going to do what they have to do to sustain themselves. Not having to wear a tie was cool though.
